Drs Rosa and Ian Matheson are the founding trustees of the charity.
Rosa is a railway social historian and author with a particular emphasis on women's achievements and rights. She has a background in education and the promotion of the arts. Rosa is a passionate and enthusiastic campaigner for equality and human rights.
Ian is a retired medical practitioner with a particular interest in neonatal care and family medicine. He is a trustee and volunteer at other charities. Ian is also a keen Fine Cabinet Maker and brings a very practical and caring perspective.
Brian Mildenhall is also retired after almost forty years working in financial services. He has many years experience of being a trustee at various charities. Brian is a keen cyclist (once cycled 1100km from Tibet to Kathmandu to raise money for the children) and brings a logical and compassionate attitude.
Laurence Olinois is our fourth trustee. She has known Rosa and Ian for many years.
Aishworya is mum to the children. She is a young Nepali woman of amazing strength and dedication to the children. It is not practicable for her to be a trustee but she is involved in all decisions regarding the children.
None of the trustees are paid for their work.
Rosa, Ian and Brian visit our children in Nepal twice a year, usually for up to 12 weeks in total. We have a close relationship with the children and we are very much part of their lives.
Our visits are paid by us personally and no part of the charity's money contributes to our costs. Any activities we share with the children, such as cinema or camping trips, while in Nepal are paid by us personally. That way, every penny given by our supporters is only spent on the children.
